Daria Susan is a 25 year old artist from Germany with Iranian roots. She paints, writes, meditates, cites, loves embodiment practises and adventures and everything that awakens one from the daily trance of mundanity.

About:

“My paintings generally stem from my unique observance and perspective of the world. I would describe myself as a silent observer of my surroundings with a special sensitivity for human and non-human relationships as well as colours, shapes, metaphors, symbols, story, mythology, dreams and imagination. In each painting I aim for realisation, each painting is a question, some kind of research for a deeper truth within a certain known dynamic. The answers to these questions are hidden in the questions already, the process of painting is revelation of what is already there (as the snake that bites its own tail and becomes the whole circle). Each painting is filled with this desire for “the hidden”, this desire is almost sexual at least sensual and of course embodied. The process of painting is love, is dirty, is satisfying and terrifying. I attempt to make imagination whole, by making it non dissociative and giving it its body and cells back. I want to make painting a healing experience. One should feel more whole after. Topics I research in my works often circle around, fluid identities and entities, “interconnected-ness”, meaning “interbeing”, polarities, sexualities and mythic creatures and ancient goddesses….”
